KCA UNIVERITY Students Shine at the 2020 Cyber Security Competition

KCA University, Information Security and Information Technology students were the proud winners and awardees of the the year 2020 Inter University Cyber Security (CTF-Capture the Flag) contest Awards organized by I&M Bank. The contest aims to train and sharpen cyber security skills in identifying bugs in computer systems and devising workable solutions through a series of solvable challenges.

The University recognizes the role of the following students in making this possible; Philip Ogutu (BISF), Kelvin Njau (BSC IT), Gerald Nderitu ( BISF) and Gilbert Robert (BSC IT). Under the able stewardship of their patron and KCAU, Mr. Clive Onsomu, they beat seven other Universities to emerge winners.

In addition, Philip and Kevin bagged the second and third positions respectively in the individual category to earn cash prize awards of Ksh. 30,000 and Ksh. 15,000 respectively. The team was awarded Ksh. 50,000 for the overall win.

This clearly is an indication that the College of Technology is impactful in training it’s students to solve practical problems in the field of Information Systems and Information Technology.
